I am the executive director of Southeast Ministry. We are located in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Ward 8. Ours is a program that focuses on adult literacy and job readiness and attendant support services. As a program we provide opportunities to "bridge the digital divide" while trying to cross that bridge as a program ourselves. A review of our data tells me that 90% of the people we serve reside in Wards 7 and 8 and I know that a large number don't have access to computers or the internet. My interest in District Commons is to always increase my scope of awareness of potential resources that will serve those seeking assistance from our programs.
