Started as an MIT project, Fab Labs provide access to prototype tools for personal fabrication, like a personal computer that can output functional objects instead of images on a screen.
Fab Lab DC is a fledging lab working with a core group of collaborators, supporters, and volunteers to grow innovative opportunities. In addition to serving the creative community, educators, students, organizations, and businesses, Fab Lab DC is also a model for leaders in policy, education, and industry to become familiar with new technologies in digital fabrication and hands-on approaches to learning and creative problem-solving.
